The association has set as its goal to preserve the art of Käthe Kollwitz, one of the most important female artists of the 20th century, to subsidize the museum and to keep her work alive and ever-present for generations to come.
In collaboration with the museum’s direction the association organizes readings, lectures and (within the field of art education) guided tours of the collection, especially for students. Moreover, the members cultivate a life in the association that is marked by a shared interest in art.
