is dedicated to the internationally renowned graphic artist and sculptor who lived and worked in Berlin at the beginning of the 20th century. The museum presents an overview of the artist’s work while placing her life and art in their historical context.

Käthe Kollwitz

Born in Königsberg (now Kaliningrad, Russia), Käthe Kollwitz lived and worked in Berlin for over 50 years. Her socially committed works had an impact far beyond Germany, and she maintained contacts throughout the world.

Exhibitions

Since 1988, in addition to a permanent exhibition of Käthe Kollwitz works, the museum has presented special exhibitions that explore the art of her time and related themes in contemporary art.

Museum

The museum has been run privately since it was founded in 1986. In addition to grants from the state of Berlin, the house receives support from numerous private individuals and institutions. A visit is possible every day of the week.
