Following the footsteps of Käthe Kollwitz in Berlin...

"Käthe Kollwitz (1867 - 1945) is undoubtedly one of the most important women of the last century. Her collected works

are going beyond the scopes of common meanings as for vitality, boldness and self-confidence. Moreover they are of great beauty."

Take to seeking traces in Berlin, where this famous artist lived and worked for over 50 years.

Continuation of the tour to the Kollwitz-Platz

(Prenzlauer Berg), whose centre is constituted by the

sculpture Käthe Kollwitz, created by Gustav Seitz, in

the middle of the playground. A walk through the

neighbourhood, where the artist lived and worked for

more than 50 years, leads also to the place where the

former residential building of the family, which was

destroyed during the war, was located. This is indicated

today by a showcase and a memorial plaque installed

at the new building.
