Kunstmuseum zur deutschen Künstlerin Käthe Kollwitz
The permanent exhibition
The art of Käthe Kollwitz – this means deep emotions and clear political statements, which are still relevant today. She never was simple, but multidimensional and versatile: in graphics, sculptural art and in her words.
On three floors with an introduction on the ground floor, the new permanent exhibition of the Käthe-Kollwitz-Museum Berlin traces the development and disruptions in the life of this extraordinary woman.
The four floors of the museum have been restructured, Käthe Kollwitz can be witnessed through her artistic career. The staircase becomes the central thread through important stations of her biography, and an introduction into the historical and political background makes the Berlin of Käthe Kollwitz come alive.
In short, these are the most significant innovations of the permanent exhibition of the Käthe-Kollwitz-Museum Berlin: color and design changed the interior of the rooms. As always, all the exhibition texts are provided in German and English language, for the first time we also offer an audioguide for smartphone users.
Käthe Kollwitz reflects half a century, until today she lives on in her art.
